Installation and Operation
The most important thing to remember for the operation of your light is that it works from the power contained in DIRECT SUNLIGHT. The more direct sunlight the solar module receives in a day, the longer the light will operate.

Main Unit:

To mount the unit vertically for use as a security type of light, attach the unit to a solid surface as shown in figure 'A.' To mount the unit horizontally* for use as a convenience type of light, attach the unit as shown in figure 'B." Use the two #12x3 1/2'wood/sheet metal screws supplied (#4 on parts list).

Solar Module:

The solar module is the power source for the SensorLight. It converts the sun's energy into electricity that charges the battery in the main unit. This requires DIRECT SUNLIGHT falling onto the face of the solar module for as long as possible in the course of the day.

To mount the solar module unit, pre-drill 3 pilot holes using the drilling template supplied. Then drive the 2 top screws until the screw heads are approximately 1/4 in. from the surface. Hang the mounting bracket on the screw heads and secure the bracket by inserting the screw into the bottom hole.Use the (3) #10 x 3/4' screws supplied (#12 on parts list). Make sure it is anchored into a solid surface.

You can adjust the angle of the solar module by moving the adjustment support to the appropriate hook on the mounting bracket. Remember, it must face as much DIRECT SUNLIGHT over the course of the day as possible. Keep in mind shadows that may block sunlight at some point during the day.

Now carefully route the solar module powercord to the main unit and plug it into the connector on the side of the unit.

*Important If the main unit is mounted horizontally, it must be mounted in a covered area so water will not get into the unit through the exposed vents.

FINAL ADJUSTMENT AND START-UP

After you have successfully installed your SensorLight you are almost ready for carefree operation with a few final steps:

INITIAL 3-DAY CHARGE.
On the main unit there is a slide switch with two positions

Auto:  -Position for normal operation of unit

Off:    -Position for shipping or extended periods ofnon-use. Position for initial 3-day charge before final adjustment and first use. (Although the unit can charge, it is not operational in this mode.)

For now, turn the slide switch to Off.

In this position the solar module will charge the battery without activating the unit. Leave the switch in this position for 3 sunny days to ensure that the battery has a full charge prior-to motion sensor adjustment and normal operation.

HOW TO ADJUST THE MOTION SENSOR:

After the initial 3-day charge, slide the switch on the main unit to "Auto".
On the motion sensor there is a TEST/30sec/60sec switch:

Test:  -Position for adjusting the motion sensor allowing the light to function during daylighthours. (Normally, a built-in sensor disables the light during daytime to keep from wasting energy).

30 sec: -Allows the unit to run for approximately 30 seconds after motion has stopped in the field of vision.

60 sec -Allows the unit to run for approximately 60 seconds after motion has stopped in the field of vision.

For now, turn the TEST/30sec/60sec switch to 'TEST"

ADJUSTING THE MOTION SENSORPOSITION:

The bottom middle knob of the motion sensor is the Darkness control, which controls at what level of darkness the unit becomes functional.

For now, leave the Darkness control in the middle position. If, in daily position, the unit turns on too early, turn the control towards DARK. However, if the light is not activating during nighttime because of a street light or bright houselight, turn this control toward "LIGHT.'

FINAL ADJUSTMENT OF THE    TEST/30sec/60sec SWITCH:

Depending on how long you wish the unit to stay lit after motion stops in the field ofvision, turn the slide switch on the bottom of the motion sensor to '30sec' or "60 sec"

ADJUSTMENT OF THE LAMP HOUSING:

Point the lamp housing to face the area you wish to illuminate.
