AIRLIFT Technologies is a California based airlift water pumping windmill company started with the purpose of  providing an effective, low-cost solution to the worlds water pumping needs. 

Other windmill designs are limited in their water pumping capabilities. Our windmill pump is designed without the use of leathers, or plunger type assemblies, therefore, there are no moving parts down in the well that have to be replaced year after year, The only maintenance is to change the oil and clean the filter on the compressor annually. Other windmills must be placed over the well the AIRLIFT water pumping windmill can be placed anywhere the wind blows the best, up to 1/4 mile away for maximum water pumping capabilities, so it is very cost effective.

 The unique AIRLIFT injection pump can run dry accepting sand and sludge without harm, we are so confident in the durability of our pump that we guarantee it for life under normal use. Another added benefit of the AIRLIFT injection pump is that it tends to oxygenate and purify the water as part of it's pumping process.

The AIRLIFT's unique pumping system is capable of pumping up to 8 gallons per minute and has a maximum lift of 300 vertical and 500 horizontal feet. You can even use more than one windmill to service the same well or vice versa. Both AIRLIFT windmill models are designed to be installed by one person in less than a day with no special tools or equipment.

Q. How does air lift water?

A. Air lifts water by a combination of submerging the pump to a predetermined depth and injecting air into the pump casing, mixing with water, creating hydro-static pressure, forcing the water-air mixture as high as 300 feet.

Q. What is the predetermined depth? 

A. Also known as the submergence ratio: 
0 to 50 ft. lifts = 30 ft. minimum submergence below water level. 
50 to 150 ft. lifts = 70% submergence below water level. 
150 to 300 ft. lifts = 50% submergence below water level.

Q. What if  I have a shallow well and can't meet the submergence ratio? 

A. Then the AIRLIFT positive pump should be used.

 

Q. What size does my well casing need to be? 

A. The AIRLIFT injection pump can accommodate well casings as small as 2".

Q. What kind of piping do I need to use ? 

A. Common schedule 40 PVC or flexible poly hose.

Q. How long does the compressor operate before needing to be rebuilt?

A. 6 to 8 years.

Q.What maintenance is required? 

A. Change the compressor oil and clean the air filter annually. 

Q. How much wind do I need? 

A. 4-6 mph cut in speed,
7-8 mph pumping begins,

NO MOVING PARTS IN THE REVOLUTIONARY BOWJON PUMP. The few moving parts in the entire Bowjon system are all above ground. There are no cylinders or plunger assemblies as in other systems. The only maintenance is to check the compressor oil every 6 months and clean the filters. Bowjon uses a heavy duty P.K. Lindsey industrial type air compressor with TIMKIN®bearings. Bowjons 5 blades are made of 6061-T6 tempered aluminum, each consisting of 3 layers for the maximum strength. They have a varied pitch giving low wind start up torque at 4-6mph, optimum performance at 10-15 MPH. A turn-out assembly with shock dampener allows the unit to slowly turn in and out of the wind to prevent whipping action. This promotes longevity for the windmill. The pump , unlike others, can be run dry without harm. It can accept silt, sludge and sand without damaging the unit.
