| HoverShip The HoverShip is our answer to aircraft congestion at the World's airports: the HoverShip cruises around the world at 100mph but lands at 0 mph. It can hover for hours, even in strong wind gusts. |
The HoverShip is a solar-assisted, jet propelled
airship. Paired jet engines, in the central interior, draw air through the
noze. Primary thrusted exhaust is rearward, but aux air is also vectored
laterally and downward as required to maneuver and for autostabilization
against side winds. Static lift is provided by hot helium airbags. Inflation
heat is reclaimed from jet exhaust and assisted by solar thermal collectors.
It does not fly on Bernoulli lift, so it is safe against propulsion failure.
Solar PV provides electrical power assist. HoverShip is huge. It was
conceived as a high-speed EW and cargo airship for the US Navy. But we think
it is needed as a commercial cargo transport and a 2000-passenger ship.
Serious sponsors needed (please, God, let there be one more Howard Hughes).
