This motor has a relatively constant speed. The speed is determined primarily by the applied voltage. So it works well with a variable-voltage type of speed control. Current increases in response to load increase. This motor will draw a starting current of 30A, which should be limited by controller to 10 seconds or less to avoid heat buildup. Gear or chain reduction recommended. At 12V, no-load speed is 2000 RPM at 3A.
